Construction Begins on Chicago Bears-Themed Fitness Center In Vernon Hills Near Temporary Housing

Construction began in late November on a Chicago Bears-themed fitness center in Vernon Hills,Illinois. The 45,000 square foot building that once housed a Sports Authority is expected to be fully converted by Spring 2019. As construction is just getting started, many people are wondering where people that work and workout there may stay. Luckily there are plenty of temporary housing options, including the AMLI at Museum Gardens in Vernon Hills.

This project is the first of its kind and is a full collaboration between the village of Vernon Hills and the Chicago Bears NFL team. The Bears first pitched the idea to Vernon Hills officials in January, and less than a year later, construction is already getting underway.

“This strategic project marks the organization’s first brand extension, and we couldn’t be more excited about how it’s developing,” Bears president and CEO Ted Phillips said. “We’re looking forward to connecting with our fans and the community in a new way that also promotes health and fitness.”

Mark Palmieri,a Libertyville,IL native who is the founder and owner of Palmieri Personal Training Inc. in Vernon Hills, will be the new general manager of the fitness center.

Among many other amenities, the fitness center will feature state of the art equipment,a 40-yard sports turf,a recovery center and saunas. If you have kids or are more interested in picking up merchandise, there will be a children’s zone and a Bears Pro Shop,as well.

As you would expect, the fitness center will cost money to use,but it won’t break the bank, according to officials. Membership dues will range from $54 per month for an individual to $149 per month for a family and can be purchased at bearsfit.com or the Bears Fit showroom.
